Who this is

PNL Learn is operated by Proto Node Labs LLC. Creating an account and using the site means you agree to these terms.

Your account

You give us a username, an email address and a password when you sign up. We never store your password itself: it is run through argon2, a one-way hashing algorithm, and only the resulting hash is kept. We cannot look up or recover your original password, and no one at Proto Node Labs can read it.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials to yourself and for the activity that happens under your account.

Your progress and content

Your course progress, XP, streak, exercise answers, code you have written in the in-browser editor and playground snippets, and preferences (theme, editor font size, sound) are stored against your account so the platform can pick up where you left off. Code you write runs entirely in your own browser (Pyodide, a Python runtime compiled to WebAssembly); we never execute your code on our servers.

Certificates

Finishing a program issues a certificate as a signed Open Badges 3.0 credential. The credential identifies you by a salted, one-way hash of your email address, not your email in clear text, so a verifier can confirm a specific email belongs to a certificate without us publishing that email anywhere.

Publishing to GitHub

If you choose to publish a project to your own GitHub account, you authorize that one action through GitHub's own sign-in flow. The access token GitHub gives us for that request is used once, to create the repository and push your code, and is never saved to our database, logged or sent to your browser.

Payment

Paid plans are billed and processed by Stripe. We keep a record of your subscription status (plan, whether it is active, and the Stripe identifiers needed to manage it) so the app knows what you have access to. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles that directly.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings. Deleting it removes your user record and everything tied to it: progress, sessions, achievements, snippets, review history and subscription record. This cannot be undone.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
